The Music Team consists of worship leaders, vocalists and musicians, who comprise the Gateway Church Praise Band. On a weekly basis the scheduled team rehearses the songs for the weekend services, and our entire team meets every six weeks or so to have lunch together and learn new songs. It is our desire to have a music ministry at Gateway Church that is culturally relevant and spiritually dynamic!

In 2003 we released our debut live recording called It All Begins Here which are all sold out now! In December 2005 we released our first Christmas project called Glad Tidings of Great Joy. In September 2006 we released our third project, called Now and Then: Songs of Yesterday and Today. It features favourite hymns, popular praise songs, and brand new songs as well!

Glad Tidings of Great Joy and Now and Then can both be purchased online right here, at Gateway Church following each weekend service, at The Upper Room Bookstore and Creation Bookstore in London, and at CDBaby.com.

Individual tracks for Now and Then can be auditioned, purchased and downloaded at most online music download services, as well as right here via the SNOCAP music service.

Philosophy

The Gateway Church Music Team exists to:

• Give praise & worship to God in a corporate environment
• Communicate messages of truth in relevant and timely ways
• Facilitate an opportunity for worshippers to have encounters with God
• Attract seekers towards coming into relationship with God
• Give vocalists and musicians opportunity to use their talents to honour God
• Pursue excellence in music as a worship expression and communication tool
• Develop new and creative approaches to music

Involvement

We welcome the involvement of people who have a certain level of talent and skill vocally or instrumentally, and who desire to use their gifts to worship the Lord and to be a part of a team. We do expect commitment and dedication from all who are involved, to God, to the leadership, to one another, and to the vision and direction of Gateway Church.

Being a part of our music team involves diligently learning the music material, attending required rehearsals, and pursuing the principles of personal godliness and team unity.
