KidZone Weekend

Our guest speaker, Rob Lukings of JAM (Jesus And Me) Ministries, spoke to us regarding:

  • We now have the first generation of children growing up in Canada who have no knowledge of Jesus Christ or the moral framework of Christianity in their lives. In many ways they can be considered a generation lost.

  • 80-90% of people who become Christians do so before they are adults.

  • Almost all believers who now attend church as adults grew up in the church and became believers as children.

  • When Jesus was talking about the parable of the lost sheep, He was indicating that God's desire is that no children would be lost without Him.

  • Don't you think it's in God's best interest to save children? Saving adults is PLAN B.

  • God is calling us to be there for the children, to make a difference in their lives, and to help them find faith in Him and salvation before they are adults.

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

At what age were you first introduced to the concept that God loves you and wants to know you? Do you think that’s typical of most people?

You heard some alarming statistics about children and faith. Would you be willing to change your thinking about your involvement in the lives of children, in light of what you learn?

Have you ever said, ”I’m not good with kids”? If so, how does that reflect on your present and/or future parenting?

Is it possible that one of the most significant things God is calling us to do is to invest our time and energy in the next generation?
