"God Heal Our Land" - Canada Day 2004

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

There were five reasons for the fall of the Roman Empire:

• The decay of religion

• The breakdown of the family

• The craze for pleasure

• Unbridled spending

• Misplaced trust

To be a great Canadian Christian, I must:

CARE about what happens in my land

ACCEPT personal responsibility for my part

NOTIFY the leadership of my concerns

ADHERE to the laws of the land

DECIDE to make a difference

INTERCEDE for my government

ACKNOWLEDGE our need for God

NOURISH my love for my country

Look at the scripture:

If My people who are called by My name...

God reveals Himself as Father, so we must respond like His children.

...will humble themselves...

God reveals Himself as sovereign, so we must humble ourselves.

...and pray...

God reveals Himself as listening, so we must confess our need.

...and seek My face...

God reveals Himself as hope, so we must believe He has a better plan.

...and turn from their wicked ways...

God reveals Himself as holy, so we must turn away from what we know is wrong.

...then I will hear from heaven...

God reveals Himself as power, so we must allow Him to renew our confidence.

...and will forgive their sin...

God reveals Himself as grace, so we must stand up under His restoration.

...and heal their land.

God reveals Himself as faithful, so we must believe for a healed land and healed lives.

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance."

Psalm 33:12
