What is God's will?

1 Thess. 5:11-22: Among other things . . . No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Our lives are like a house: many rooms, compartments, storage areas

What happens when we don't surrender to God?

There are many results . . . but it ultimately leads to bondage.

How do we surrender?

It starts with a willingness to give over the leadership and control of our various rooms to God.

Matt 16:24-26; Romans 6:12-13, Ephesians 5:18, 1 Peter 4:1-2

It ultimately results in obeying with abandon the word and will of God in every area of our lives.

THere are many results . . . but it ultimately leads to freedom.

What would it take for you to do that?

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

In what specific ways am I resisting surrendering completely to God?

What specific areas of my life have I been not giving control over to Him?

What are the issues at stake for me personally when it comes to surrendering?

In what ways do I need to begin obeying with abandon the will of God?
